Hi everyone, my name is Emily. I am married to Adam, and we have two amazing kiddos. Kash is six, and Briella is a year-old. We reside in Indiana. We have two dogs; one is named Zoey; she is our nine-year-old boxer/Boston terrier mix, and then there is Sparta. She is a labradoodle and is a trained autism therapy dog for our son Kash.
I am the author of Mama to Kash's Voice, and I started this blog to share our journey through the ups and downs of autism. I wanted to help other families going through this journey. I wanted to be a resource to families that would need help with navigating through this challenging journey. When Kash was diagnosed three years ago, I was thrown into the autism world. I had no idea where to start. I had to spend many nights researching for doctors, specialists, resources, insurances, etc., to provide the best quality care for my son.
I have my masters in Special Education with Emphasis on Emotional and Behavioral Disorders. I have a Bachelor's in Applied Behavior Analysis. I am currently a Behavior Consultant through the Medicaid Waiver.
I am very passionate about advocating for my son with special needs and other individuals as well. My work has been published in Autism Parenting Magazine, Scary Mommy, Finding Cooper's Voice, Her View from Home, and His View from Home.
